Jimmy Robertson • Helen Robertson • Wendy Sogoloff Infinity
Stables is owned and operated by Jimmy and Helen Robertson. With
numerous world's championship and national championship titles to the
stable's credit, one might assume that it's a stable where the only
business is winning. While we at Infinity Stables are completely
committed to the development and success of each Saddlebred or roadster
horse or pony in our experienced care, we're just as convinced that
participation with horses should be ... well, fun.
From investors who focus on marketing
young horses and owners who are lifelong equine enthusiasts, to
juvenile exhibitors and adults learning to ride, drive, and show,
Infinity's clients find a comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere that
makes participating with horses competitive but enjoyable. Our goal is
a healthy, happy horse that enjoys its job, and clients -- friends --
who enjoy the experience. Our commitment to the welfare of our young
exhibitors is an important one to us; we believe their involvement with
horses should help prepare them for life, teach them good sportsmanship
and the reward of setting and reaching goals, and be an activity the
entire family can enjoy.
Today's
Infinity Stables team is now preparing horses for and instructing
second-generation riders, the sons and daughters of riders whom Jimmy
coached to successful juvenile careers.
Jimmy Robertson
-- husband of Helen, father of Jennifer Robertson and Krissy Robertson,
brother of world-famous equine auctioneer Walt Robertson, and the son
of legendary Hall Of Famer Jim B. Robertson -- has been turning out
champions for over 30 years. As manager and trainer at Infinity, Jimmy
is known for producing correct riders and drivers, champion Hackney and
harness ponies, top roadster ponies and horses, and winning American
Saddlebreds. His notable winners include CHOur Golden
Duchess, his Lexington Junior League winner of the Five Gaited Juvenile
Exhibitor Championship, who later went on to become two-time Five
Gaited World's Grand Champion with trainer Merrill Murray aboard. Jimmy
has guided his young drivers to claim Junior Exhibitor Road Pony
World's Championship honors with Speed Limit, What Luck, and Tijuana
Souvenir. Saddleseat equitation stars under his tutelage include
Malissa Shirkey, Virginia Cable, Carol Reams, Melissa Shane and Sarah
Cronan.
Having adjudicated at horse shows across the United States and in South Africa, Bermuda, and Canada, Jimmy is a United States Equestrian Federation-licensed
'R' judge in American Saddlebred, Saddleseat Equitation,
Hackney/Harness, and Roadster disciplines. Known as a tireless promotor
of his chosen equine breeds, he has served the United Professional
Horseman's Association (UPHA)
as president in 1990-91 and 2002-03. He has been honored by his peers
with the UPHA Richard E. Lavery Professional Horseman's Award and the American Saddlebred Horse Association's
C.J. Cronan Sportsmanship Award in 2000, and the UPHA Saddleseat
Equitation Instructor Of The Year Award in 1997. He currently serves as a director of the American Saddlebred Horse Association, and as treasurer of the American Saddlebred Registry. His exhibitors,
however, would probably report that one of Jimmy's greatest strengths
is his ability to communicate clearly with his students while
good-naturedly challenging them toward enhanced performance levels.
Helen Robertson,
who balances roles as instructor and trainer, has been riding since she
was 2, and training rofessionally since turning 18. Acquiring
experience with John Biggins and Frank McConnell before arriving to
work for Jimmy at Rock Creek Riding Club in 1989, Helen's energy and
incomparable instruction have resulted in numerous titles for her
riders: Melissa Shane, Pleasure Equitation Medallion Champion and
Lexington Junior League Horse Show Equitation Champion; Sarah Cronan,
Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show Senior Saddleseat
Equitation World's Grand Champion and Lexington Junior League Horse
Show Senior Equitation Champion; Julie Spinnato, Pleasure Medallion
Champion and UPHA Pleasure Challenge Cup Reserve Champion; Annie Reed,
UPHA Pleasure Challenge Cup Champion; Katie Raque, winner of the Five
Gaited Open class at the National Horse Show held in Madison Square
Garden; Caroline Kamer, two-time World's Champion in the Three Gaited
Pleasure for Juvenile Exhibitors division; and Joel Dorignac, Reserve
Saddleseat Equitation Champion at the Lexington Junior League Horse
Show, Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show Reserve
World's Champion Saddleseat Equitation Rider for 15 year olds, and Good
Hands champion at Lexington Junior League Horse Show. The daughter of
the late Patricia Close, herself a professional horsewoman, Helen is
known for her inspiring win aboard Prolific Memories in the Five Gaited
Grand Championship during the last year Saddlebreds were shown at the
National Horse Show in New York's Madison Square Garden. In 2005, Helen
piloted the Diamond Five Farms-owned Cadillac Spirit to the Kentucky
County Fair Three Gaited Grand Championship win during the World's
Championship Horse Show. Helen serves on the UPHA Equitation Committee. Helen has been selected to adjudicate the Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show and the UPHA American Royal National Championship Horse Show, among others. For 2008, Helen was honored with the UPHA's Chapter 9 Horseperson Of The Year award and the Helen Crabtree Instructor Of The Year award, largely in recognition of her committee's successful work on the UPHA Ribbons Of Service program to increase participation in saddleseat equitation. Wendy Sogoloff Gossage, younger daughter of Bonnie and Hayes Sogoloff, trained her first world champion Morgan horse when she was 11. In 1984, she rode and drove the homebred Cedar's Firelight to two national titles in her age group. By the age of 12 at her family's Cedar Spring Farm in Vermont, Wendy decided on a horse training career. Her ability to pilot a horse with skill and understanding resulted in a juvenile career filled with awards and achievements -- and the opportunity to sell many of her horses. Wendy assisted Nelson Green in Nicholasville, Ky., for two years, and has been training professionally for the past 18 years. Starting colts is her specialty, she says -- but she enjoys showing her mounts, too ... and continues to rack up wins. Wendy's easy-going nature has quickly made her a favorite among the Infinity crew. She graduated from the University Of Vermont, from which she holds a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. An experienced clinician and highly regarded instructor, Wendy is a member of United Professional Horsemen's Association, American Saddlebred Horse Association, Vermont Morgan Horse Association, American Morgan Horse Association, and the United States Equestrian Federation.
