THE 102nd KENTUCKY STATE FAIR WORLD'S CHAMPIONSHIP HORSE SHOW IN LOUISVILLE'S FREEDOM HALL:

  • It was an exciting, blue-ribbon win for Don and Kim Mattingly's Diamond 5 Farms with Cadillac Spirit's expressive performance in the Kentucky County Fair Three Gaited Championship on Sunday evening. Helen Robertson expertly piloted this big-going gelding, all the way through the carnation-blanketed victory pass. Watch for photos!
  • Peri Town, owned by Georgia & Carl Holden, Jr., was bold and beautiful in his 4th-place tie in the Junior Fine Harness Stallions/Geldings class with Jimmy Robertson at the lines.
  • Harmony At Last, owned by John and Cindy Maloney, claimed 7th place in the Three Gaited Ladies Under 15.2 class, with Cindy in the irons. Congrats on a good go, Cindy!
  • And, High Mark, with our Wiliam Woods intern Keen Sullivan at the lines, drove out with the 7th place ribbon in the Kentucky County Fair Harness Pony Championship. On Monday evening, they trotted back through the gate in the Harness Pony Stallion/Gelding Stake and left with a fourth-place finish. We're glad that Keen's mother was visiting from Syracuse, New York, to celebrate Keen's 21st birthday and watch her daughter show in Freedom Hall.
  • Bad Moon Rising and Caroline Kamer strategized their way through a deep Ladies Amateur Three Gaited Over 15.2 class and laid claim to the sixth-place ribbon. This beautiful mare is owned by Apples & Oats, LLC.
  • Heartland Flirtation, another Apples & Oats LLC entry driven by Caroline Kamer, continued her streak of impressive performances in the Harness Pony Mare class, earning a fifth place finish.
  • Helen Robertson trotted and racked the showy Amberwood's Double Delight, owned by Andi Bittker, to a sixth-place finish and a host of great comments from onlookers in the Junior Five Gaited Mares class.
  • She's Bedazzled ADW dazzled the judges on Tuesday night with her partner Will Harris. They racked, trotted, and made smart moves all around the green shavings to become World's Champion Five Gaited for Junior Exhibitors 16 - 17, capping a spectacular show season. Will's no stranger to Freedom Hall; he twice rode I'm Mr. Blue to the reserve win in the Five Gaited Pony for Riders 13 and Under, and previously captured a reserve world's championship with his flashy mare She's Bedazzled ADW. Now, he has a World's Championship Horse Show blue ribbon to display -- and we're so proud of him!
  • John Maloney drove the speedy Turbo Blue to an eighth place finish in the very competitive Open Road Pony Stake class on Wednesday.
  • Jennifer Robertson piloted Rum's Last Shot -- "Larry" -- to a reserve world's champion finish in the Amateur Roadster Stake on Wednesday evening. Great drive, Jennifer!
  • Thanks to Tre' Lee for a spectacular job with Sue-She, who trotted in stylish form to the fifth place ribbon in the Three Gaited Over 15.2 class on Wednesday evening.
