Jimmy Robertson on catching a runaway horse

At the Asheville horse show a few years ago, an elderly gentleman suffered an accident when he tipped over in his roadbike, colliding with the wall of the showring, and rendering himself temporarily immobile. The loose roadster horse bolted and darted around the ring, frantically dragging his leather traces and the roadbike, and barely missing anything in his path. Bystander after bystander scrambled over the rail to catch the frightened horse, but to no avail -- the powerful horse eluded them all. As the horse was bearing down on the driver and only a few yards away, Jimmy stepped over the rail and handily caught the horse. The crowd applauded, of course, and a nasty situation was narrowly averted.

Jimmy returned to the stalls, where person after person dropped by to comment on his timely skill in catching the runaway horse. Finally, one commented, "I don't get it. Ten men couldn't catch that horse, but you stepped in and caught him in just a moment, and saved that man from injury. How'd that happen?"

Jimmy replied:

"Those other 10 men didn't sell him that horse."
